New Scarborough Travelodge opens today (officially this time)

Huge mobile billboard parked outside Scarborough Travelodge on 'Opening Day'
Despite trading for several weeks already, Travelodge’s new multi-million pound Scarborough hotel will be officially opened today.
The opening will include a children’s art exhibition, featuring images of how the towns youngsters see
Scarborough in the future.
Attending the official opening and judging the art contest will be judge in the competition Scarborough Mayor Bill Chatt,
Urban Renaissance manager Nick Taylor and Scarborough landscape photographer Michael Stead.
Talking to the Evening News Mr Stead said: “I am delighted to have be chosen as the third judge in the art contest. I feel great pride in being able to help Scarborough’s next generation of budding artists put their mark on the future vision of the town.”
The 140-room Travelodge hotel, built on the site of the former St Nicholas
Hotel Scarborough, has created 20 jobs following the £7.9 million renovation.
